WorkAbilities, Inc. is a Day Training and Habilitation (DT&H) with the unique ability to provide training and support services to clients with the widest range of needs and abilities across five separate programs, each with its own program focus and staffing capability. Clients range from those who are medically fragile with complex physical needs to those who need minimal coaching and supervision and benefit from paid work opportunities.
 
Licensure
WorkAbilities is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. We meet the requirements for licensure under MN Rule 245D for DT&H, Pre-Vocational and Structured Day Services. 
 
Staff
The staffing ratio is different for each of the five programs based upon service and supervision needs. Ratio’s range from better than 1:4 in Group I to 1:8 in Group V.  Planning Managers serve as internal case managers, Area Managers train and provide leadership to staff and supervise the program areas, and Program Technicians provide direct support.  Medical and health care services are monitored 8 hours per week by a nurse consultant through Health Counseling Services.
 
Facility
WorkAbilities Inc. is a one-story wheelchair accessible building constructed in 1981. It is located in a mixed-use area of Golden Valley (residential, commercial and industrial) and is in close proximity to several major highways, bus lines with easy access to lovely parks and nature areas.
 
Jobs      
WorkAbilities’ full time Job Developer procures a variety of contract work so that all clients interested in work will have work training and paid work opportunities available to them.  Examples include hand packaging, assembly, collating and mailing, etc. 
 
Transportation and Geographical Service Area
WorkAbilities serves clients who live in the Hennepin County/Metro Area. Metro Mobility or Metro Move  provides door-to-door, wheelchair accessible transportation.
